About
Hello – Will Marr here. I help business owners and businesses by managing their financial problems. I am a qualified chartered accountant, and have over 25 years experience of working within businsses on the finances – 17 of them as Finance Director of a growing and successful SME, and latterly as a virtual finance director with a portfolio of clients.
My focus is on sorting things out, keeping things simple and using my knowledge and experience to improve profits, growth and stability for you.
Having trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young in London in 1994, I worked in various businesses, especially SME manufacturing. I have held a range of senior finance positions, the last of which was as Finance Director working hand-in-hand with the CEO and commercial team to grow a family business turning over £2.5m into a professional and successful enterprise employing over 100 people and with sales of over £10m.
In 2019 I set up Will Marr & Co. to offer part-time (or virtual) Financial Director services to small and medium-sized companies who did not employ a full-time Finance Director. Since then, I have worked with a variety of owner-managed businesses to help them achieve better profits, through efficiencies, training, and a focus on the key numbers.
With extensive experience in all areas of finance, including commercial strategy, profit impact, systems, training and governance, my motivation is to help companies, owners and directors achieve better results. I am known for a warm, friendly, approachable style and a straightforward attitude.
